Water Damage Floor Repair and Restoration Services

Florida Fire & Flood dispatches IICRC-certified technicians with commercial extraction and drying equipment across Central Florida for water damage floor repair. Whether the water came from a burst pipe, an appliance failure, or a storm, floors absorb the impact first and hold moisture the longest. Getting them restored correctly requires tools that go beyond what a shop vac and a box fan can accomplish.

How Water Affects Different Flooring Types

Hardwood floor water damage restoration is one of the more complex jobs we handle. Solid and engineered hardwood absorbs water through end grains and seams, causing boards to cup, crown, and buckle. Controlled drying can sometimes save the floor, but sections often need replacement and refinishing.

Laminate floor water damage is less forgiving. Laminate is made from fiberboard that swells permanently when saturated. Once the edges lift and the surface bubbles, replacement is the only option.

Tile/grout water damage cleanup might sound counterintuitive, since tile itself is waterproof. The issue is the grout and substrate underneath. Cracked grout allows water to reach the mortar bed and subfloor, where it sits undetected for weeks.

Carpet water extraction / drying requires removing water from both fibers and the pad underneath. The pad is often too saturated to save, while the carpet itself can be cleaned, dried, and re-stretched.

Subfloor drying / replacement sits at the foundation of every flooring project. Plywood and OSB subflooring swell at seams and lose structural integrity when wet. Subfloor that stays wet develops mold and must be cut out before new flooring goes down.

The Consequences of Skipping Professional Floor Restoration

Wet flooring that dries on its own rarely dries correctly. Moisture trapped between the finish floor and subfloor creates a sealed environment where mold thrives in Florida's climate. Floors that appear dry on the surface can register elevated moisture underneath for weeks. Installing new flooring over a wet subfloor guarantees a repeat failure.

Our Floor Restoration Approach

Our technicians measure moisture content at every layer: surface flooring, subfloor, and the structural members below. We use weighted extraction for carpet, injectidry systems for hardwood, and targeted dehumidification for every flooring type. Once drying is verified, we coordinate repairs or full replacement to match the existing floor. The full scope of our services is detailed on our water damage restoration page.
